Please browse the subject list and search the site to make sure that your topic doesn’t exist or it doesn’t extend off of another topic.

Position the argument against the status quo

Which is right “Estate tax should be repealed” or “the Estate tax should be kept?” Since we already have the estate tax, the argument is that it should be repealed, so that should be the topic from which the debate stems. In other words. the argument that it should be repealed is more fundamental because the argument that something should continue cannot exist unless there is an argument stating that it should not continue.
